Igor Fishelev graduated from Ural State University with a degree in Physics and went on to complete postgraduate studies at the Institute of Metal Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His academic background in fundamental science laid the groundwork for his analytical mindset and technical expertise.

In 1991, during Russia’s economic transition, he co-founded Link, one of the first public joint-stock companies in the Sverdlovsk region. As Vice President, he was responsible for investment management and international business development, gaining valuable experience in strategy, finance, and global trade.

In 1994, Mr. Fishelev joined the Japanese corporation Mitsui & Co. Ltd., and the following year became head of its Yekaterinburg regional office. His work involved coordinating export and import projects in various industrial fields, building long-term partnerships between Russian and international companies, and developing a strong understanding of cross-cultural business practices.

In 2000, Igor Fishelev founded Unimatic, a company focused on the supply of industrial machinery and engineering solutions for the machine-tool industry. Under his leadership, Unimatic grew into one of the leading providers in Russia and the CIS, expanding its partnerships with major technology manufacturers and strengthening the country’s industrial capacity.
In 2018, he handed over the management and ownership of Unimatic to his son, Oleg Fishelev, and shifted his focus toward innovation, mentoring and support of technology startups. Today, he continues to promote the development of high-tech entrepreneurship and modern industrial solutions.
